How Will Kate Middleton’s Baby Change The Worl

How Will Kate Middleton’s Baby Change The World?
By Shaun Sugar

Prince William is in line to inherit the throne, meaning his children will also be. Kate Middleton’s baby is going to be the first child in line for the throne after its father, and whether it’s a boy or girl, things will be set to change regardless. The younger generation of the royal family have been far more outgoing than the older generation currently ruling over England, visiting every country in the commonwealth and showing their support of the things going on in each of them.

In 2012 the Queen made a huge effort to visit places around the country and the commonwealth as part of her Diamond Jubilee Tour. This brought out the best in the population, and showed the country has a true pride in its queen and everything she represents. The royal wedding and the Olympics only added to the happiness felt around the country, and the world joined in to celebrate everything that was going on.

Up until the events of 2012, the Queen had rarely been seen doing anything outside of her normal routine, but the country was left with much higher spirits after just one year of her making the effort to travel around to see everyone. The younger generation, Kate and William, are a lot more outgoing than the Queen and the Duke Of Edinburgh, resulting in their popularity soaring above that of those currently in power. When Prince William becomes king he will no doubt be more popular than the Queen has been, meaning more people will be proud of the monarch rather than looking at countries like America and thinking the country should be run as it is.

By doing more as rulers of the country, Prince William and Kate Middleton will increase people’s motivation for organising regular events that make them proud to have a king. Regular tours will also show countries besides England that the king cares about them and is interested in what they are doing, as there are things going on no one hears about but that are quite impressive. The Diamond Jubilee Tour sparked hundreds of events in just one year, if the monarch were willing to regularly make visits to different countries and the colonies there, then there would definitely be a wider community shared by all those who follow the king and support the country still having a monarch, rather than giving that same power to someone else.

Kate Middleton is a topic of hot discussion lately, and even the Kate Middleton face mask range is being sold out in retailers around the UK simply because so many people are interested in her baby, including Shaun Sugar.

Five Steps for Living a Good Life

By Awdhesh K Singh

The good life was called “eudemonia” by Aristotle, which is a Greek word meaning good (eu) spirit (daimon). Aristotle believed that the good for humans would be the maximum realization of the function that was unique to humans, which means reason. Since part of the task of reason was to teach human beings how to act virtuously, the good for humans was the exercise of their faculties in accordance with virtue.

The good life was defined by Aristotle as the activity of the soul in accordance with virtue. The word virtue itself means moral excellence, goodness or righteousness.

However, the performance of virtuous act itself causes equal and opposite reaction. Hence even when we are performing virtuous acts, we face obstacle which disturbs our peace of mind and comfort. When we are righteous, it becomes our duty to fight against the evil. Thus in the process of achieving the moral excellence, goodness and righteousness, we lose good life which means happiness, peace, comfort and luxury.

While virtuous acts are needed for the happiness of soul, comforts and pleasure are the key to physical happiness. We need both for good life.

The attainment of good life is, therefore, not a science based on pure reason but actually an art and skill which needs to be developed with practice and knowledge. Good life does not mean inaction but it also does not mean painful actions.

There are two types of action which can lead to attainment of one’s objective. The first may be called “Effortful Action” where we have to exert and work hard. It requires exercise of force and causes “perspiration”.

The second type of action is based on “inspiration” which does not require much effort since it uses the nature for its assistance. If you can tap the energy of the nature intelligently, you can perform the work effortlessly. For example, your effort can be greatly reduced if you take assistance of gravity for pulling the water up from the well. Travelling can be totally effortless if we travel in the direction of the stream. One can travel in sea by “sailing ships” where the power of the wind is used to drive the ship by the help of “mast” without the need of any engine. Windmills can produce large amount of energy without destroying the environment.

Effortless Action and Good life

Good life is possible only by actions which are either effortless or require least effort. If there are many methods to perform the same task, the smart is one who uses the path of least effort. It is important to understand that the human nature is like the wind of the nature which does not flow in the same direction all the time. The nature of man moves in almost every direction at different time and we call it mood of the man. Sometime, we are like cool breeze while at other times, we are like storm. If we can identify the mood of the people or the organization, we can flow effortlessly.

Thus for an effortless action, we must know the mood of the organization and people. If you know them well, you job becomes extremely easy. However, since the mood of the people keep changing like the direction of the wind; one must have the patience to strike at the right moment for the best result. If most people have to work extremely hard to get the work done, it is because they never analyses the person or the situation and wishes to produce the result whatever effort required.

The effortless life is a good life since it leads to the desired result without causing much effort. In order to live a life effortlessly, we must follow these five steps.

1. Knowing the Mood of the People

It is important to know the mood of the people and the group of people. The mood of people is not same for any two moments. We are different in the morning than in the noon and in the evening. One must ask the people to do the things at the right moment when the mood is just right and the person is receptive for the idea. Organizations are also like people with different moods. When dealing with organization, identity the mood of the organization and strike the deal. If we know what people want, and provide them the same, they shall be happy to do our bidding. The problem is that most people are themselves not aware as to what they want or their desires changes rapidly. If we provide the right thing at the right time when it is not too early or too late, we can accomplish the things effortlessly.

2. Knowing yourself

We are not same for any two moments. There are many things which we can never feel comfortable to do while we would love to do many things even without any benefits. If we choose a profession that suits our temperaments, we can enjoy our work and perform all our jobs effortlessly. Do not try the most important move when you are in bad mood or upset with something. When we are in good mood, we can take our failures much more sportingly without losing our temper. In our bad mood, we are quite fragile and susceptible to break.

3. Knowing the Best Path

There are several paths to achieve the same goal and several methods to solve a problem. We must have the knowledge of not only the different methods but also the best method to solve the given problem. It may be prudent to analyses the multiple alternatives to select the best alternative instead of trying to solve the problem by using the first method that comes in your mind. Like a swimmer, never move exactly in the direction of the goal, but set you direction taking into account the direction of the wind and your power of swim which takes you to your goal with least effort.

4. Time Your Move

Just like you must wait to sail till the wind flows in the direction of your goal, you must have the patience to wait for the right moment. A child, who makes his demand from the parents when they are in the right mood, gets the same immediately while one who demands when the mood is foul gets the beating. An impulsive action often makes you more distant from the goal and makes your job even more difficult. When the right moment comes, strike and you shall sail through even the greatest obstacle effortlessly.

5. Identify your Goal

Most people waste their entire life without knowing what they want in their life. They always remain miserable since with every achievement, they change their goal and even without enjoying their achievement move towards their next goal which is often in opposite direction. Their movement is like Brownian motion where a particle even after travelling miles, actually comes back to the same place without making any progress. However, one who knows his goal moves slowly but steadily towards his goal and no effort is wasted in the process.

Effortless Life is Good life

A life which needs lots of effort cannot be a good life since an effortful action is recognition of our failure to identify the effortless method to achieve the goal which can come only by proper knowledge. When we put more effort, we are drained of our energy and become tired soon. When we accomplish less, we have less at our disposal for good life. We even have less time at our disposal to enjoy our achievement. It is important to know yourself and the people as a living creature whose moods change rapidly rather than know them as a static beings. The sense of time and identification of goals can make our life effortless and give us the good life which is full of pleasure, comfort and happiness.

Life is a mystery which can not be explained either by science or by scriptures. Truth has a body and a soul which we call science and religion. Contrary to popular perception, they are not opposed to each other but complement each other like body and soul. In fact, they can not exist without each other.

I am the founding member of The Science of Soul Foundation in India which works for the synthesis of the diverse disciplines of knowledge like science, religion, philosophy and arts. The website of the foundation is http://www.scienceofsoul.com

I am working for the creation of a synthesis between science and religion through my articles. I believe that everyone can understand this Truth by the use of intuition and reason. You can contact me at aksinghirs [a] yahoo.com if you wish to know more about the mystery which we call life.

The Patience of Job

By Michael P. Westhead

Voltaire said, “God is a comedian playing to an audience afraid to laugh.” Translated, if you’re a tight ass, there’s a two drink minimum to read this article.

Let me just say, I believe in God but like many, I’ve questioned His existence. Most people will say the reason they doubt God’s existence is because, “If there’s a God, why is there so much suffering, and why is there war?” Blah, Blah, blah, blah blah…

My sole reason for doubting the existence of God is work. (I, however, never question the existence of a higher power for I worship at his altar every day from 9 to 5.)

If there is a God why do we not have five-day weekends and two-day workweeks? He’s God. He can make it happen. In God we trust, right? Well I trust in God to give us a five-day weekend.

Think of the positives of a two-day work week. You’d say things like, “Wow, that workweek really flew bye.”

Think of what it would do for the economy because as Americans what are we really, but consumers? Think of it this way. If the United States Senate can get away with only working 110 days a year, why can’t we?

Women will have five full days a week to shop, and tell men what to do. Maybe, just maybe, we’ll have more time to spend with our kids so they don’t remain a bunch of illiterate crack heads.

More people might believe in heaven because life on earth won’t be such a living hell.

I believe, with faith, God will grant us my wish. Let me illustrate through the Bible. Isn’t it ironic that in the book of the Bible where the name of the person who suffers the most is spelled J.O.B.?

The story of Job is one of perseverance. Job is given leprosy, has his family, money and worldly possessions taken from him and it’s all a test of faith. It is a horrible story! I didn’t like it when I read it but I said. “Fine, He’s God. He can do what He wants. After all, it is His world. Like Job, who am I to question?”

What I can question are employers playing the part of God by expecting us to have the patience of Job in order to keep our job. They may not be giving us infectious diseases but they are sure taking our money, ruining our personal lives, and making work a living hell. (Personally, I don’t have the patience of Job. I’m like the Prodigal Son–at the first sign of a party I’m off to the fatted cow happy hour for half-price matzoh and dollar shots of Manishevitz. If I need some bread I’ll come back in the morning crawling on my hands and knees.)

In the Book of Job, Job finally said, “Hey God, how bout a little something for the effort?” God responded, “Don’t question my authority but you’re right. I have been a little harsh on you.” Job then had all his riches returned ten-fold. Now that’s pretty just, is it not?

Well, I’m asking, “Hey God, how bout a five-day weekend, for the heck of it?” (If you see me on the golf course mid-week you’ll know God answered my prayers.)

Funny Commercials: The Most Common Types of Humour Used In Advertising

By William Clayton

Humour has become a mainstay of advertising campaigns and has proven to be one of the most effective methods ever devised for selling products and creating a positive brand image. In this article we look at the most commonly used techniques in funny commercials and advertising mediums.

The most common humour technique used in advertising is juxtaposition. Juxtaposition involves putting two or more elements together or comparing them to create a humorous analogy. For example, Hewlett Packard ran a clever advertisement featuring a Christmas picture “ruined” by a teenager dressed as a punk. The print ad then showed an image modified using Hewlett Packard’s PhotoSmart software with a more idealised teenager. This kind of juxtaposition can be used effectively to create or expose a problem that the product can solve.

The second technique we turn to is personification. This technique involves attributing human characteristics to things without them. The best recent example of this is Evian’s Live Young advertisement which personifies babies by making them into active young teenagers. This cleverly adjusts what we might consider a normal situation or activity to create positive associations with vitality and youth.

Thirdly we have exaggeration whereby you extend or stretch the reality of a given situation or characteristic to over emphasise a particular point or point of view. The simple premise is that you make something seem better or have a much greater effect than it does in reality. This allows you to encourage a very positive view of a product whilst making people laugh at the exaggeration itself.

The fourth most common technique we encounter in advertising is the simple pun. One of the most well-known of these is the WKD commercials – which use wicked as a pun for the acronym WKD. This simple technique helps to instil the brand name in to your mind and create certain associations through the humour used.

Fifthly we come to sarcasm. Sarcasm is basically taking something or someone and using their faults against them in a mildly derogatory way. Sarcasm is generally employed to a situation to reveal an interaction between one or more parties and has proven effective at creating humour by espousing situations many of us can relate to in some way – or saying the things that many of us don’t ever have the courage to say ourselves in a given situation.

Akin to sarcasm but slightly differently implemented we have silliness. Silliness simply makes humour out of a ridiculous or farfetched situation or occurrence. Silliness has associations of fun and a laissez faire attitude to life so has proved highly effective at selling luxury and personal products. Silliness often uses everyday situations and makes them ridiculous in order to highlight our own silliness and ultimately to sell products.

Finally we have shock. Shock can either take the form of a surprise occurrence or shock in the form of an unexpected saying or situation. Surprise is used effectively in many commercials to ridicule a person’s situation or lot in life. Shock is used to create surprise through an unexpected occurrence. This technique is used effectively to create positive product associations – with the implication of “buy this and avoid this situation/occurrence.”

Rihanna Forgives Chris Brown

Expert Author Lori Rubenstein

Like many in my generation, the first time I heard of Rihanna was in 2009 when pictures of her beaten up face exploded all over the news media. At the time I remember thinking is was good for the battered women’s movement to have this young beautiful woman speak out about violence against women.

Last night I watched the interview with Oprah on the OWN network. I was very impressed with her and her statements about forgiveness. Her insights were wise beyond her years. Right after the abuse, she was angry, hurt, and of course, publicly humiliated. Her public actions, as well as her music, came from a gut level of victimhood.

I was moved when, earlier in the interview, she stated that the most important thing her grandmother who recently passed on taught her was about forgiveness (and that she should marry a man who loves her more than she loves him).

She has forgiven Chris, saying she had to find peace with her father first. While her father was good to her, he abused her mother. She was still angry with him and of course, the incident with Chris triggered in her all those memories of her father abusing her mother. AND we all know by now, that often we are attracted to love relationships to heal our hearts, to heal our primary relationships with our parents. Yes, this young woman articulated it perfectly, once she found peace with her father, she was able to find peace with Chris.

Even though her grandmother emphasized the importance of forgiveness, she did not forgive right away. She was worried that she’d become some statistic, or look weak. She didn’t want it to appear that what Chris did was OK. So she lived with the anger and hurt for some time. What Rihanna didn’t realize at the time was that those were simply myths of forgiveness. The reality of forgiveness is that you have to be strong to forgive and it does NOT mean you condone the abuse. What Chris Brown did was NOT ok, and at the same time, Rihanna needed to forgive so she could heal her past and find peace in her life.

Shockingly, I watched the Today show and they were criticizing her for still loving him, and for forgiving him! They wanted her to remain angry! They wanted her to continue to live from a place of bitterness and retaliation. How crazy is that? Is this representative of our thoughts as a nation or just sensational television?

Being abused, whether by a parent, child, or a love-partner, doesn’t wipe away the love. Her actions at this point are text-book perfect for forgiveness. She wanted him to get help, recognizing this man obviously has a problem. She stayed away from him during the restraining order. She was mad, angry, hurt and felt victimized for a while. And she worked through her issues, taking control of her life, creating stronger boundaries, and although she admits she still loves him, she is moving on with her life. What more do we want from her? Do we really want her to spew angry venom forever?

Being abused is tough for anyone. Being humiliated in the public eye is awful and painful. Being criticized for forgiving? I hope she has tough skin and is centered and balanced enough to ignore and dare I say it, forgive, her forgiveness critics.

Her mission is to be a beacon – lighting the path for others to find their way back to love. She has written two transformational books: Transcending Divorce: A Guide for Personal Growth and Transformation and Freedom from Abuse: Finding Yourself Again and co authored Faces Behind the Pages that Inspire is currently working on the manuscript for Forgiveness: Healing Your Past and Finding the Peace You Deserve.

Retiring? Here are 5 Must-Have Amenities for your Next Neighborhood

Here are 5 Must-Have

Amenities for your Next

Before choosing your next residence, it’s important to select an area that has easy access to all of your favourite goods and services. This will ensure you have the easiest transition possible as you relocate to your brand new community. Here are five fantastic amenities that you’ll really benefit from having nearby.

Shopping District within Walking Distance

If you enjoy driving or have access to a vehicle, you may wish to skip this step – but if you do, you’d be cheating yourself of a great opportunity to stay in shape and connect with your neighbors. Living in a “walking neighbourhood” allows you to do at least half of your shopping within a 5 block radius of your home. This means that you’ll be more physically active, spend more time outdoors, and foster a personal relationship with your surrounding area. This, in turn, will have health and social perks which you’ll be enjoying for years to come.

Grocery Store with Delivery Services

A wheeled cart is a great way to transport your freshly bought produce home, but sometimes it’s not nearly large enough to accommodate all of your purchases. Many grocery stores offer home delivery service, or, at the very least, car service. Having your groceries delivered will free you from the unpleasant task of carrying bags of heavy goods to and fro, but it also carries a second benefit – by removing a time-consuming chore from your schedule, you’ll have that much more time to enjoy your day.

Community Center

The right community center can serve as a fantastic gateway to social events, classes, recreational activities, and athletic resources. They’re also a great place to start asking the locals about the quality and care of nearby seniors housing facilities. When you visit the center in person, don’t forget to ask the staff for a guided tour. It’s a great way to make sure you don’t miss anything you might otherwise have overlooked.

Community Garden

As more and more of us relocate to cities, we find ourselves with diminishing access to luxuries like backyards. If you reside in a metropolis and have a green thumb, you can still enjoy all the benefits of maintaining a hobby garden – thanks to the increasing popularity of community gardens. These are public tracts of land that have been sub-divided into small areas, which can be rented for a very nominal fee. Apply for a plot, get your plants in early, and you’ll be enjoying fresh tomatoes and zucchinis all summer long!

In the 21st century, we have access to an unparalleled quantity of information. This will really come in handy when evaluating the quality of hospital that’s located in your prospective neighbourhood. By Googling its name and browsing through message boards, you can easily determine their standards of service by the people who know better than anyone – the patients. Wait times, levels of cleanliness, and the overall friendless of resident physicians are all worthwhile considerations in your quest for a great neighbourhood.
